Trust, from the inside

How we source, link and date every number

WaterVetted is a normalization project, not a lab. Here’s what that means in practice.

Specs sourced from manufacturer listings · Certified vs claims labeled · WaterVetted does not run lab tests

1 · Manufacturer spec sheets

Published removal %, capacity, flow and cartridge cost come from the maker’s official listing or manual, with the URL and date of retrieval preserved on the row.

2 · NSF/ANSI: certified vs claims-only

When we can match the exact model in an NSF, WQA, or IAPMO directory listing, we mark that standard certified and link the source. If the maker only markets a standard on the product page — or the listing does not name this SKU — we keep claims-only. A logo on the box is never enough by itself.

3 · We do not lab-test

We say it plainly and repeatedly. Primary-source testing should come from NSF, the EPA, or a certified drinking-water lab — and we point you there when you need certainty.

4 · Blanks are honest

A missing removal % means the source didn’t state it. We never backfill a guess with a marketing figure.

5 · Dates + versioning

Every row carries an as-of date and the site shows a content version, so you can tell how current a number is at a glance.

A note on health: this content is informational and not a substitute for medical or water-safety advice from your doctor, utility or a certified lab.
